About Go Beyond Book Club

Hello book lovers! Starting a book club is relatively easy but can you hold on to your group for years to come? Several friends of mine have started book clubs that quit within the first year. Maybe it has to be the right combination of friends, maybe your book picks are not that great, maybe it's a time issue. Meaning, no one has time to read a book or organize a reading group.

I will tell you the number one secret why I think our book club has endured these many years. FOOD. That's right, you heard me.  I'm inspired by the quote by C.S. Lewis,  “Eating and reading are two pleasures that combine admirably"

Those two actions are what makes a book club something to look forward to every time we meet.  We celebrate our love of food and a novel with tasty dishes and easy ideas to go beyond. Little things you can do to make it worth going and be inspired by the book you've read.

I dedicate Go Beyond Book Club to my beloved book club friends and thank them all for the good, the bad and the ugly novels we've read together these many years and still going strong.

My favorite novel of all time -  To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee on amazon.com
Who doesn't love Boo Radley, Jem, Scout and Atticus?

A classic that surprised me big time, The Scarlet Pimpernel written by a Baroness in 1905. She paved the way for future swashbucklers and superheroes.

Books that I struggled to finish, Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell and Quo Vadis by Henry Sienkiewicz.  Whew!  It was tough. Although, I did like the Wives and Daughters movie.

Book lovers, this website was created to help you get your reading group off the ground with novels read by a real book club, book party ideas and even holiday book club entertainment.  Don't wait any longer to start one today because reading is who we are and reading with friends is truly where we want to be.
