Book clutter free your home on Book Club Blogger

Spring into book cleaning with these great tips!

Let's be honest book friends.  Book lovers are closet book hoarders. How many novels and or book club reads do you have laying around your home?  Novels on shelves and or gathering dust under your bed, in boxes and in every nook and cranny. Books you will sadly never read again because they didn't make it on your 'Desert Island Keeper' or better known as 'DIK', described as - *If you could choose one or two books and you were stranded on a desert island which books would you choose?

Those books are your precious keepsakes and you will read them over and over again for life. But for the novels that did not make it on your DIK shelf what do you do with them? I've got some ideas for you book friends so let's get some SPRING cleaning done!

One's book trash is another book lovers treasure

Have a spring time book exchange - At your next book club (whoever is hosting) have them contact everyone to bring novels they are ready to give away and hopefully find a new home. One more thing - not stating the obvious - NO book club reads allowed!

Your local library
Take your unwanted novels to your local library and drop them off no questions asked

Amazon trade in program
Receive an Amazon gift card for your used books (you can trade in other used items as well!)

Donate to your local Goodwill or other donation center - books are tax deductible

Have any religious or inspirational books? Churches may want them for the church library

Sell your books online with BookScouter.com

Spread the word! Build a FREE library and place it outside your home. Free libraries are a wonderful way to get your community into reading, exchanging and sharing. You can keep it simple by taking a used two shelf bookcase, adding your unwanted novels and position it out front in a safe but visible spot. This build your own library website has more info to get you started!

Found this on a walk one day and it put a huge smile on my face!
To e-reader fans:  If you are a 'hardy copy purist' do not continue reading.  E-readers are an obvious choice to keep e-books organized and your home clutter free. Amazon.com has E-readers and tablets in all prices, colors, shapes and sizes. Making life just a little bit easier
Here's hoping these spring book cleaning tips will get you organized this season so you can be ready for the arrival of fresh books!
